New Testament
The text for this course is “New Testament Survey” by Merrill C. Tenney, a book which is used by many Christian universities.
More than just a nice snapshot of each book, where we learn its author, purpose and outline, Tenney presents an overview of the New Testament in its historical context, along with various connections between the authors and their writings.
You will become familiar with geography as well as other tools to improve your understanding of the New Testament. You cannot hope to be an effective preacher if you have not taken a systematic course on the New Testament. The material is packed into 15 lessons and requires some effort, but you will see that it’s worth it!
Quote: “Christianity did not develop in a religious vacuum where people with no beliefs were just waiting for something to believe in. On the contrary, the new faith in Christ had to make its way forward competing with the other beliefs of the times.”
