How To Study The Bible

Hermeneutics is the science and art of studying the Bible! The inductive method presented in this course will help you in studying every portion of Scripture (a passage, chapter, or book) in order to find the correct interpretation and application.

You will learn to see a passage in its biblical, literary, historical/cultural, and geographical context. Through prayer and reflection you will determine what is the central idea of a biblical text in order to be sure of God’s message for you. After completing this course, Bible study will become a pleasure . . . you will have the necessary tools to go beyond mere assumptions and conjectures.

The main purpose of this course is not the preparation of sermons, but rather the application of the Word to your personal life. But it is nonetheless an absolutely necessary tool for those who are called to preach and teach the Scriptures.
